Fires Everywhere

I chose to shape my poem in the shape of California because that’s what the poem is based off of. Lately there have been lots of fires happening all over the state and there aren’t any clear answers to when they’ll stop. The president decided to go to twitter and actually blame California for the fires. I tried to capture that in my poem by using language that would portray the misplacement of blame on the victim. This is why I highlighted the repeated line in red. I feel like the president is unable to take accountability and instead copes with telling himself that he is trying his best even if it’s not good enough and that people should see him for his efforts and not his actions.
